The Maintenance Technician will oversee all aspects of property maintenance at our primary property consisting of 130 units and ensure a safe, well-maintained, and attractive living environment for residents. This full-time position is based in Santee, CA. We offer competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for professional development.Responsibilities: Maintenance Oversight: Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks, to maintain property integrity and functionality.  Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies through regular inspections and prompt resolution of any issues.  Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.  Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.  Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of equipment, tools, and supplies, overseeing inventory levels, and procurement processes to support efficient maintenance operations.  Emergency Response: Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies, including after-hours and on-call responsibilities, to ensure resident safety and satisfaction.Qualifications and Skills: Experience: Minimum of 4 years of property maintenance experience.  Technical Skills: Proficiency in various maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.  Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a proactive approach to addressing maintenance issues.  Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with residents, staff, and vendors.  Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in a customer service-oriented role, particularly in property management or hospitality.  Background Check: Successful completion of background and drug screenings.  Nice to Haves: Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) or HVAC certification are advantageous.  Medical Insurance: Comprehensive medical coverage to ensure the health and well-being of employees and their families.Dental Insurance: Access to dental care to maintain oral health and hygiene.Vision Insurance: Coverage for vision care, including eye exams and corrective lenses.Parental Leave: Paid parental leave to support employees during significant life events such as the birth or adoption of a child, fostering a supportive work-life balance.401K Match: Matching contributions to employees' 401(k) retirement savings plans, helping them plan for a secure financial future.Career Development Opportunities: Access to career advancement programs, training, and educational opportunities to support professional growth and development within the company.We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
