As part of our continued growth, we are hiring an Assistant Project Manager II to support complex project delivery and help strengthen our operations.
The Assistant Project Manager II is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with the overall direction, execution, and financial outcome of construction projects. This role supports larger, more complex projects than those typically assigned to an APM I and carries greater responsibility for training, guidance, and process improvement. The APM II plays a key role in coordinating field and office operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support project managers in day-to-day operations and project delivery.
- Manage portions of project scope independently, including procurement, document control, and subcontractor coordination.
- Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, including tracking milestone progress.
- Issue subcontractor agreements, POs, and change orders with limited oversight.
- Coordinate RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and other project documentation in Procore.
- Support budget tracking, forecasting, and cost reporting.
- Review subcontractor pay applications and verify progress for billing.
- Assist in managing change events and cost impacts.
- Work closely with field teams to ensure alignment of design, schedule, and installation.
- Participate in quality assurance/quality control activities and site walks.
- Support MEP coordination efforts including equipment procurement, installation sequencing, and commissioning activities.
- Assist with startup, turnover, and project close-out documentation.
- Maintain strong, professional communication with clients, vendors, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Help facilitate coordination meetings and follow up on action items.
- Build positive working relationships and represent the company with professionalism.
Qualifications:
- 4–8 years of construction experience, preferably with mission critical, data center, or technically complex projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel, Procore, Bluebeam
- Strong understanding of construction documents, scheduling, cost management, and field operations.
- Excellent communication skills, analytical/problem-solving abilities, and the ability to prioritize and maintain schedules in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
