- Experience in the following is preferred, but not required:
- Montessori teaching experience, with demonstrated expertise in implementing authentic Montessori instructional practices across multiple grade levels. Experience aligning Montessori curriculum and instructional practices with California State Standards.
- Coaching and mentoring teachers in the areas of literacy and mathematics. This includes providing instructional support, modeling effective teaching strategies, facilitating professional learning, analyzing student data, and supporting the integration of Montessori methods with standards-based instruction to improve student outcomes.
- Instructional leadership. This may include curriculum development and collaboration with administrators, teachers, and families.

Examples of Duties:
The In-School Resource Teacher assigned to support Logan Memorial Educational Campus is responsible for the successful implementation of Montessori education across Transitional Kindergarten through fifth grade by providing targeted and direct student instruction, coaching teachers, and strengthening instructional practices. This role collaborates with educators and district support staff to improve student outcomes through data-driven planning, professional learning, and classroom support.
The incumbent will be expected to:
- Provide targeted Montessori instruction, interventions, and small-group lessons for students in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 5th grade based on identified academic and developmental needs.
- Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities and provide instructional resources to support teachers in Montessori philosophy, curriculum, and instructional practices.
- Support grade-level teams and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) through coaching, collaboration, and embedded instructional support focused on Montessori implementation.
- Provide instructional coaching through modeling lessons, co-planning, co-teaching, classroom observations, and constructive feedback to strengthen Montessori instruction and classroom environments.
- Collaborate with Montessori teachers during PLCs and collaborative planning time to analyze student data, identify instructional priorities, monitor student progress, and use backward planning to establish instructional goals and next steps.
- Support the implementation of high-quality Montessori instruction with an emphasis on mathematics and literacy.
- Partner with grade-level teams and individual teachers to strengthen instructional planning and student outcomes.
- Collaborate with district and site-based instructional support staff, including curriculum consultants, English learner specialists, instructional coaches, and other resource teachers, to ensure coordinated support for students and teachers.
- Participate in professional development, meetings, and training related to Montessori curriculum, instruction, and best practices.
- Foster positive communication with teachers, families, and school staff by supporting parent conferences, facilitating parent education opportunities, and sharing strategies that reinforce Montessori learning at home.
- Perform other related supplemental duties as assigned in support of Montessori program implementation, consistent with district guidelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Qualified applicants must have experience supporting students with a demonstrated ability to foster inclusive, student-centered learning environments and effectively align Montessori instructional practices with California educational standards.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Reading Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential by the closing date of the application deadline.

The examination process will consist of an application screening based on the candidate's education, work history and responses to the supplemental questions. Professional References will be contacted for candidates who are selected to proceed in the examination process.
