Role Description The Workforce and Career Navigator is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA. In this position, the navigator supports community members in setting career goals, identifying training and education opportunities, and connecting them with local employers and workforce programs. Daily responsibilities include meeting with participants, assessing employment needs and strengths, creating individualized career plans, and providing ongoing coaching and follow-up. The role involves coordinating workshops, job readiness activities, and referrals to supportive services such as childcare, transportation, and financial counseling. The navigator maintains accurate case notes and reports, collaborates closely with internal program staff and external partners, and represents Logan Heights CDC at community events and outreach activities.

Qualifications
- Experience in career counseling, workforce development, case management, or related social services.
- Strong communication, interviewing, and active listening skills to support diverse participants.
- Ability to build relationships with employers, training providers, and community organizations.
- Organizational and documentation skills, including maintaining case files and tracking outcomes.
- Familiarity with job search tools, resume and cover letter development, and basic digital literacy.
- Knowledge of barriers faced by low- to moderate-income communities and culturally responsive practices.
- Ability to work on-site, adapt to changing priorities, and manage a caseload with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, education, or a related field is preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish or other relevant languages is highly beneficial.
