What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Prosecutor position at Logan County, Ohio Prosecutor?
The Logan County Prosecutor's Office is hiring an Assistant Prosecutor. You will gain immediate courtroom experience and assume an active caseload in Logan County Family Court.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and litigating cases in Logan County Family Court including juvenile delinquency, temporary or permanent custody proceedings and adult protection cases, Third District Court of Appeals, Ohio Supreme Court and other venues.
- Provide legal advice to Logan County Children's Services caseworkers and law enforcement agencies.
- Prepare for pretrial conferences, adjudicatory and dispositional hearings, and annual custody review hearings with pro se litigants, public defenders, assigned counsel and guardians ad litem
- Prepare and respond to defense motions and demands for discovery
Requirements:
- License to practice law in Ohio
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be highly organized and self-motivated.
Schedule: Flexible, generally Monday to Friday 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. with occasional after-hours and weekend contacts. Salary commensurate with experience. Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package and potentially eligible for Ohio's Rural Practice Incentive Program.
