What are the responsibilities and job description for the WIC Clerk/Breastfeeding Peer Counselor position at Logan County Department of Public Health?
The Logan County Department of Public Health is accepting applications for a full-time (37.50hours/week) WIC Clerk/Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
This position performs the intake function of making appointments, enrolling, transferring, and certification of WIC clients. The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills; self-direction with the ability to work in a team environment; flexibility and cooperation in fulfilling role obligation. Computer competency is required in the use of a PC.
The position also performs breastfeeding support to WIC moms and anticipatory guidance. Such duties may include, but are not limited to, working with WIC staff, promoting breastfeeding in the community and open communication with local agencies and programs. The candidate must be available afterhours and have breastfed her own child within the last 5 years. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
