The Billing Assistant is responsible for billing entry and accuracy checks for Michigan Medicaid payors.
Requirements
Essential Functions
- Collect, audit, and input billing data for submission to all Michigan Medicaid payors.
- Communicate with Billing Specialist as representative for Electronic Medical Records system to resolve billing-related issues stemming from software.
- Assist billing specialist in working with Michigan Medicaid to address rejections/appeals, authorizations, and contracts.
- Maintain working knowledge of several different Community Mental Health provider billing policies and procedures.
- Effectively and professionally communicate billing issues with LOGAN leadership.
- Supports general office duties and responsibilities, filing, and tracking billing needs.
- Monitoring for billing overlaps and errors, and communicating with providers
- Posts payments from CMH
- Supporting connections and scheduling in Central Reach for clients and providers.
- Supporting and completing corrective claim forms
- Submitting paper bills for secondary CMH billing requirements
- Willingness to learn and support the Billing Specialist in various client billing needs
- Expected to maintain a high standard of customer service, professionalism, and respect for employees.

Education
- High school diploma (minimum)
- Experience in health care or a related field preferred
