What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Manager and Content Creator position at Logan Circle Group?
Logan Circle Group is a full-service political agency founded in 2015 that uses technology, advertising, and media to share powerful stories, making a positive impact for American families.
We’re hiring a highly creative, hyper-online Social Media Manager & Content Creator to build social content for the firm and our clients. This is a hands-on creative role: your core focus will be designing graphics and editing high-quality short-form video, supported by day-to-day account management.
You’ll take ideas from concept to published content across distinct brands, voices, and audiences. We’re looking for excellent taste, strong instincts for what works online, and the ability to execute quickly. You spot trends early, understand why they resonate, and know when they’re right for a brand.
01 / WHAT YOU’LL CREATE
- Design compelling social graphics, carousels, and visual assets that feel current and stay consistent with each brand.
- Quickly edit polished short-form videos with compelling hooks, tight pacing, clean captions, sound, and strong visual storytelling.
- Turn interviews, long-form videos, existing footage, and rough ideas into content tailored to each platform.
- Pitch timely content ideas inspired by trends, news, internet culture, and audience behavior and move quickly to produce them.
- Manage social accounts and content calendars for the firm and multiple clients, adapting to distinct voices, audiences, and goals.
- Write clear, engaging captions and social copy.
- Handle scheduling, publishing, and community engagement.
- Track performance and use what you learn to improve the next round of content.
02 / WHO YOU ARE
- Hyper-online and trend-aware. You know what’s happening across social platforms, understand their different cultures, and can distinguish a useful opportunity from a trend that doesn’t fit.
- Design-oriented. You have a strong eye for typography, layout, color, and visual consistency. Your work feels intentional and current.
- A fast, skilled video editor. You can find the story in raw footage and turn it into polished social content, balancing speed with attention to detail.
- A strong writer. You can find the hook, cut unnecessary words, and write in different brand voices.
- Organized and self-directed. You can manage multiple accounts, meet deadlines, and move work forward without constant direction.
- Thoughtful about brands. You bring creative ideas and sound judgment about tone, accuracy, and what belongs in a public feed.
03 / WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- A portfolio of social content you personally created, including graphics and short-form videos.
- Experience managing social accounts for brands, organizations, clients, or your own successful projects.
- Practical proficiency with AI tools for creative research, concept development, image generation, and video editing. You know how to use them to accelerate production while maintaining quality, accuracy, brand consistency, and client confidentiality.
- Proficiency with design and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, Premiere Pro, CapCut, or equivalent tools.
- An understanding of social performance metrics, including watch time, retention, shares, and engagement, and how to use them to improve creative decisions.
04 / SHOW US YOUR WORK
Email a short introduction and links to your work to Lydia@LCG.media.
Include:
- Three to five social graphics or carousels you designed.
- Two to three short-form videos you edited.
- Social accounts you’ve managed, with a brief explanation of your role and any results you can share.
- One recent social trend you think a brand used well and why.
- For each sample, tell us what you personally contributed.
If AI tools contributed to a portfolio sample, briefly explain how you used them and what you personally created or edited. We care most about your creative judgment, the quality of your work, and your ability to execute.
