Waitstaff/Server

The Log House Restaurant is a family‑owned, full‑service restaurant known for warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. We take pride in delivering excellent service and memorable dining experiences to every guest.

We are seeking professional, reliable, and guest‑focused servers to join our team. As a server, you will be responsible for providing attentive, efficient, and friendly service while maintaining the high standards of our restaurant. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment, and a commitment to teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests promptly with warmth and professionalism-Professional standards suggest 1-3 mins a guest should be waiting without acknowledgment.
• Present menus, answer questions, and make recommendations to enhance the guest experience.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and write shorthand clearly on guest checks for kitchen staff to execute and for your teammate to deliver the food if needed.
• Deliver food and drinks in a timely manner, ensuring presentation and quality standards are met.
• Anticipate all guest needs and provide attentive service throughout their visit.
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately and responsibly. We have a cash register no POS systems.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and timely order execution.
• Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and service standards.
• Participate in our shared tip agreement, which means all guests are everyone’s responsibility, whether you're seating them, ringing them out, delivering food, answering phones, handling to‑go orders, or making the drinks or desserts We all work together.
• Complete side work (Max requirement is 20% of your scheduled hours), which includes but not limited to cleaning, stocking, and maintaining a well‑organized restaurant at all times.

Requirements:

• Professional appearance and grooming has to be the utmost importance, as you will represent The Log House directly to our guests.
• Previous serving experience in a full‑service restaurant required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to manage time effectively during busy service hours
• Dependability and commitment we are looking for long‑term team members who are punctual, reliable, and ready to contribute every shift.
• Availability for weekends and holidays is required.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating guest checks accurately
• Experience with upselling techniques to enhance guest experience and sales performance
• Dependable transportation to and from work.
• Basic knowledge of mixology, beer, and wine pairing to confidently make recommendations and serve beverages appropriately.
• Teamwork without drama , every guest is everyone’s guest, and side work is part of the job, not optional.

Physical Requirements:

• High physical stamina: ability to stand and walk for extended periods of 8 hours shifts, in a fast‑paced environment
• Carry trays, plates, and beverages safely and efficiently.
• Lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
• Ability to keep pace during peak service hours and large parties or private events.
