Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and facilitate efficient patient intake processes.
- Schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and manage appointment calendars using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Collect and record vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information accurately.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support when needed.
- Maintain organized medical records, ensure proper documentation of medical encounters, and update electronic health records (EHR/EMR).
- Support hospital medicine or outpatient clinics by managing patient flow, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with medical documentation.
- Handle administrative duties including answering phones, managing patient inquiries, and processing referrals or ICD coding for billing purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with knowledge of medical terminology and documentation standards.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and EMR management for accurate record keeping.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus.
- Experience working in medical-surgical environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to confidentiality standards.
