Maintenance Technician
Lofton Staffing is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a facility located in St. Benedict, LA.
The Maintenance Technician will perform general repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure the facility remains safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced in facility maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform minor repairs including locks, walls, and fixtures
- Inspect control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
- Install appliances and equipment
- Replace light bulbs and complete routine maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot equipment and building systems, including ventilation systems
- Inspect safety systems such as fire alarms
- Perform drywall repair, painting, and minor remodeling projects
- Complete small electrical and plumbing repairs
- Collaborate with contractors and maintenance staff during renovations
- Report facility issues to the Physical Plant Director or Supervisor
- Assist with general grounds and facility maintenance as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- 2–4 years of maintenance experience in medium to large facilities
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience supervising vendors or coordinating repair work preferred
SCHEDULE AND PAY
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Pay: $20/hour
- Most work will be performed outdoors
- During emergencies or natural disasters, employees may be required to remain on campus
- Additional job-related duties may be assigned as needed
