Job Summary
Under general supervision, assists instructor/teacher with providing education and/or training to students. Prepares instructional materials and maintains order and cleanliness in the learning environment. Plans and conducts child development activities. Monitors and supervises various classroom functions.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Assists in presenting subject matter
Assists instructor/teacher in maintaining an effective learning environment
Assists students with meeting and maintaining individual physical needs
Completes documentation of student progress
Distributes teaching materials
Keeps records of daily observations and information about activities
Observes and evaluates individual children
Operates duplicating machines and other equipment as needed to produce or reproduce program-related materials
Prepares lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations
Requests and maintains assigned classroom supplies, materials, and equipment
Sanitizes toys and play equipment
Tutors and assists individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts
Qualifications
Entry Qualifications
High School diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience working in an instructional/childcare setting; OR
One (1) year of experience required at the lower level Instruction Paraprofessional 1 (EDS010) or position equivalent.
