Duties
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately during retail sales transactions.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
- Upsell products and promote store specials or new items to enhance the shopping experience.
- Handle cash drawer operations with precision, including cash handling and balancing at the end of shifts.
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising efforts to keep the store inviting.
- Conduct product demos when needed to educate customers about features and benefits of items.
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries professionally.
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience is preferred, especially in grocery or retail stores.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math for transactions.
- Experience supervising or leading small teams is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to perform retail math accurately, including making change and balancing cash drawers.
- Knowledge of grocery store products, merchandising, and store safety standards is helpful.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and good phone etiquette.
