Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the hotel’s outdoor grounds, including lawns, gardens, walkways, and parking areas.
- Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, and weeding.
- Monitor and maintain the irrigation system to ensure proper water distribution.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspect and repair outdoor fixtures, pathways, and other property assets as needed.
- Respond to seasonal weather conditions by clearing snow, ice, or debris from walkways.
- Assist with outdoor set-up for special events, including tables, chairs, and other equipment.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel’s exterior and entryways.
- Monitor and maintain outdoor lighting systems to ensure proper function and safety.
- Assist with the maintenance of water features or other outdoor structures as needed.
- Follow proper safety protocols and procedures when performing groundskeeping duties.
- Maintain supplies inventory for landscaping and maintenance equipment as necessary.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to support guest satisfaction and property standards.
- Report any maintenance or safety hazards to supervisors in a timely manner.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Required:
- Previous groundskeeping or landscaping experience in a hotel, resort, or similar hospitality environment.
- Proven ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and other power tools.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Familiarity with seasonal weather-related challenges and responses (snow/ice clearing).
Required:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining pristine outdoor areas.
- Knowledge of proper landscaping techniques and seasonal maintenance needs.
- Ability to identify and address maintenance and safety hazards promptly.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and water conservation techniques.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, or snow).
- Proficiency in operating heavy machinery and landscaping equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to walk and move for extended periods while performing maintenance and groundskeeping tasks.
- Manual dexterity for using tools and performing detailed maintenance work.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.
