Loews Coral Gables Hotel features 242 guestrooms, including 23 beautifully designed suites, 30,0000 square feet of indoor/outdoor flexible meeting space, an expansive 9th floor pool deck, four Miami-inspired dining outlets and more.Located just four blocks from the Gables' iconic Miracle Mile, the hotel is the centerpiece of The Plaza Coral Gables, a 2.1 million square foot mixed-use development showcasing retail space, dining and entertainment experiences.Loews Coral Gables Hotel is the second Loews Hotel to open in South Florida, joining 25 other properties across the US and Canada that make up the Loews Hotels & Co portfolio.GeneralPerforms work requiring the specialized skills of at least one of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, HVAC/refrigeration, kitchen/laundry , carpentry, paint/wall covers, locksmith, in addition to performing other I general maintenance duties.Responsible for all maintenance for the primary trade, area of expertiseProvides supervision and training to subordinate engineering positionsResponds to trouble/complaint/maintenance request calls throughout the hotel and grounds when directed to do so by supervisorMay work with hazardous materials and chemicals in the performance of dutyUses tools, equipment, materials and chemicals safely and efficiently according to manufacturers instructions/MSDS requirementsChecks clipboard and Maintenance Requests lists, daily for work assignments, at the beginning of and throughout each shiftCommunicates status of job assignments and maintenance requests to supervisorNotifies supervisor/dispatcher as required upon completion of work assignment ICompletes appropriate records associated with work performedMakes minor repairs to equipment brought into the shopMay assist in performing the duties of dispatcher as neededMay assist/perform minor set -up duties for functions throughout the hotel and groundsIs completely familiar with Hotel Emergency procedures and able to respond quickly and accurately during any emergency situation that may ariseOther duties as assignedSupportive Functions and ResponsibilitiesPromotes and applies teamwork skill at all timesNotifies appropriate individuals promptly and fully of all problems and/or unusual matters of significanceIs polite, friendly, and helpful to all guests, management and fellow employeesAttends all appropriate hotel meetings and training sessionsMaintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work areaExecutes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standardsComplies with required safety regulations and proceduresComplies with hotel and department standards, policies and rulesRecycles whenever possibleRemains current with hotel information and changesComplies with hotel uniform and grooming standardsQualifications:Post high school training in engineering/maintenance related disciplineAbility to read, write and speak English fluentlyStrong mechanical background with minimum 2 years hands on experience in maintenance related activity, requiring journey level responsibility. Hospitality preferredAbility to bend, stoop, and lift (up to 75 lbs.) repetitivelyAbility to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidaysMust be guest oriented and Posses excellent hospitality skillsPost high school training in engineering/maintenance related disciplineAbility to read, write and speak English fluentlyStrong mechanical background with minimum 2 years hands on experience in maintenance related activity, requiring journey level responsibility.
