As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will configure, maintain, and operate computer systems and servers for a large-scale government operation, providing IT common services to multiple tenant agencies. You will install and support hardware and software, manage virtualized environments, and administer SAN/NAS devices and desktop services to ensure reliable computing capabilities. The role involves participating in complex operating system and systems software planning, implementation, and production support, while collaborating with contractors, government personnel, and vendors. You must work proactively to mitigate service disruptions by responding to outages, promptly resolving problems, and participating in research and development efforts. This position requires being on-site five days a week and performing additional duties as assigned by project leaders. This position is at the customer site at Quantico, VA.
- Engaged in the operation and support of computer systems and peripherals for a large-scale government operation providing information technology common services to multiple agency tenant organizations
- Works on virtualized environments, managing SANs/NAS devices, desktop services, and a variety of technologies supporting computing capabilities
- Participates in complex operating systems, systems software planning and implementation, and production support activities
- Interfaces with Contractor and Government personnel, confers with equipment and software vendors
- Writes, edits, and prepares graphical presentations of technical information
- Performs other tasks as required by OSC, the program manager, and site lead
- Must have a fully adjudicated Secret personnel clearance and must be eligible for a Top Secret clearance.
- Bachelors degree is required or equivalent experience (preferably in Information Technology, Information Management, or Cyber Security)
- Must have one of the following certifications: (VCP) VMware certification or Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, (AZ-800 and AZ-801) certifications, or previously held Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE Retired) certification.
- Must be DoD 8570 certified at the IAT-II / IAM-II level, Security or higher
- Required experience in Vmware
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in operating computer systems
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 24/7 military or governmental IT environment
- Prior experience in an engineering data center environment
- Must have extensive experience with virtualized environments, hyperconverged infrastructure, backup and recovery applications, desktop services, and a variety of technologies supporting computing capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to provide an outstanding customer service experience in a variety of circumstances across all organizational levels
- Experience with DNS, DHCP, Active Directory Domain Services, DoW PKI and managing group policies
