What You’ll Do
Depending on your experience, you’ll:
For W-2 / 1040 Preparers (Entry-Level & Intermediate):
- Prepare individual tax returns (Form 1040 with W-2s and standard credits/deductions)
- Review client documents for accuracy and completeness
- Apply credits such as Earned Income Credit and Child Tax Credit
- Communicate with clients to gather and verify information
For Experienced Tax Preparers (Advanced Returns):
- Prepare more complex returns including:
- Schedule C (sole proprietorships)
- Schedule E (rental/investment properties)
- Business returns (1120, 1120-S, 1065)
- Analyze data, identify planning opportunities, and resolve tax issues
- Collaborate with senior advisors on advanced client matters
What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications (All Candidates):
- At least 1 year of tax preparation experience (individual income tax)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Solid communication skills — comfortable with both clients and team members
- High school diploma required; accounting/tax coursework a plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and tax prep software
- Availability January through April (extensions possible)
Additional for Experienced Candidates:
- 2–3 years of professional tax preparation experience
- Hands-on experience with Schedule C, Schedule E, 1120, 1120-S, 1065
- Accounting degree, EA, or CPA preferred (but not required)
