Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Floater/After School Care Provider at Lodi Christian School to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising children, facilitating fun and educational activities, helping with homework and ensuring their well-being throughout the afternoon. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on K-8 students' lives while developing your skills in childcare, education, and youth development.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children from 12:00-5:30pm, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities like arts and crafts, sports, and outdoor play
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement
- Assist children with homework and provide tutoring support in various subjects to promote academic success
- Maintain a clean, organized environment that encourages learning and creativity
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress, behavior, or concerns
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans
Professional Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in classroom, daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare settings is highly preferred
- Strong behavior management skills
- Strong people skills and ability to be a team player
- Willingness and confidence to be highly communicative with parents/gaurdians
- Must be reliable and flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to change in the program
- Must obtain certification in first aid and CPR upon hire
- Must pass Livescan fingerprinting background check upon hire
