JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Orthopedic Surgery (Spine)
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Charlotte, NC (Outpatient Clinic – Upstate SC coverage)
• Service Setting: Outpatient Clinic / Private Practice
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only
• Coverage Period: ASAP – Ongoing
• Clinical Shift Schedule: 1 day per month (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), flexible
COVERAGE DATES
• Approximately 4 shifts per month (initially 1 day/month with flexibility)
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Primarily adults (minimal pediatrics)
• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 25–30 patients per day
• Case Mix: Non-surgical orthopedic spine and general orthopedic evaluations; whiplash and musculoskeletal injuries
FACILITY INFORMATION
• Office Equipment Available: PACS imaging system; C-arm available (no in-office fluoroscopy)
• Specialty Backup Available: Sports medicine physician and foot & ankle specialist
• Support Staff Available: PAs, NPs, Physiatrist, Pain Anesthesiologist, RN
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage / Backfill
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: No
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 1 week

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: SC license required; NC preferred
• Board: Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
• DEA: Required (SC)
• Certifications: Not Specified
• Experience: Spine fellowship required; experience with non-surgical spine care
• Other Qualifications: No Schedule II narcotic prescribing; strong diagnostic and patient evaluation skills
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Evaluate and manage outpatient orthopedic spine cases
• Perform non-surgical procedures as appropriate
• Work up patients for potential surgical referral (no surgery required)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including pain and sports medicine specialists
• Maintain accurate documentation and imaging review using PACS systems
