This 25-bed critical access facility operates as a Level IV trauma center providing general surgery services with established protocols for both routine and emergency surgical procedures. The facility maintains dedicated inpatient, clinic, and operating room capabilities to support comprehensive surgical care delivery. The institution is equipped to support the community's surgical needs across multiple care settings.

North Dakota offers diverse outdoor recreational activities and year-round attractions for residents and visitors. The region features notable natural landmarks, including Theodore Roosevelt National Park and the Painted Canyon Overlook, which provide opportunities for outdoor exploration. Designated Historic Sites and National Parks allow engagement with the region's history, and a statewide calendar of over 300 events provides additional options for those planning time away from clinical duties.

The clinician will provide comprehensive general surgery services with 24-hour call coverage across inpatient, clinic, and operating room settings at a Level IV trauma facility. Required procedures include abdominal, endoscopy, liver, stomach, gallbladder, appendix, colon, laparoscopy, and spleen cases, with preference for clinicians experienced in pediatrics, thyroid, pulmonary, and vascular procedures. Amputations, C-sections, hysterectomies, and respirator care are not required for this assignment. The average daily census is 15 patients, with an average of 0 to 5 general surgery patients per 24-hour call period.
