About the Position
LocumJobsOnline is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified General Surgery MD in Iowa!
We are seeking a dedicated General Surgeon for a 40-day locum tenens assignment in Iowa, starting Sep 7, 2026. This role involves providing 24-hour out-of-house call coverage, handling patient consults in the ER, performing basic general surgery cases including scopes and bread and butter procedures, and managing required C-sections for our client's facility.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide general surgery call coverage for a facility.
- Conduct patient consults in the emergency room.
- Perform basic general surgery procedures including scopes and bread and butter cases.
- Manage and perform required C-sections.
Additional Information
- Board Certification in General Surgery is required.
- Experience with Meditech EHR is preferred.
- The schedule involves 24-hour out-of-house call from 6 AM to 6 AM.
- Rural/Critical Access hospital experience is a plus.
