• Average Cases Per Day: 1-2 (adult/geriatric cardiac surgery)
• Operating Rooms: 1 Heart OR, 1 Hybrid OR (structural heart support in Hybrid OR/Cath Lab)

• Ancillary Staff: First Assist with endoscopic saphenous vein harvest experience
• Patient Demographic: Adult, Geriatric

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of cardiothoracic surgery experience (cardiac surgery cases required)
• Board Certified physician – Required
• BLS Certification – Required
• Kentucky medical license – Preferred (candidates willing to obtain KY license will be considered)
• Clean background – Required
• Impella support (insertion/removal/bailout) – Required
• Structural heart support experience in Hybrid OR / Cath Lab – Required
• Self-query NPDB report (within 30 days) – Required

Responsibilities

• Perform adult cardiac surgery procedures including CABG, off-pump CABG, arterial revascularization, and redo coronary revascularization (with or without valve surgery)
• Heart valve repair and replacement surgery, including mitral valve repair
• Manage general thoracic surgery cases (preferred but not required)
• Perform tube thoracostomy, pericardial window, tracheostomy, and thoracic aortic aneurysm repair
• Conduct flexible and rigid bronchoscopy, thoracotomy lung biopsy, resections, pneumonectomy, and decortication
• Mediastinal surgery, mediastinotomy and biopsy, and surgical open aneurysm repair
• Collaborate closely with first assist and ancillary staff; utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and perioperative coordination
