JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Physician – Radiation Oncology

• Primary Worksite: Altru Cancer Center
• Service Setting: Outpatient Clinic
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only
• Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Call: Not Required
• Rate: TBD
COVERAGE DATES
• May: 18, 25
• June: 1, 15, 22, 28
• Ongoing: Beginning August (excluding September 14–25)
• Expectation: Ability to provide 2 weeks/month consistently
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Volume: 18–24 patients per day
• Case Mix: Radiation oncology treatments and management
• Call Volume: None
FACILITY INFORMATION
• EMR System: Epic (transitioning systems in Sept 2026)
• Equipment:
- Accuray platform (Tomotherapy & Radixact)
- Transition to Varian LINAC (Sept 2026)
- Current system: Mosaic → transitioning to Aria
• Support Staff:
- Physicists (2)
- Dosimetrists (2)
- Radiation Therapists (4)
- Radiation Oncology APP (1)
- Nurse (1)
- Patient Access (1)
• Reason for Coverage: Physician vacation and leave of absence
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Board Certification: Required – Radiation Oncology
• Licensure: North Dakota license required (IMLC accepted if transferable DEA)
• Minimum Experience: 2 years
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• External beam radiation therapy
• Treatment planning and delivery oversight
• Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT)
• Use of Tomotherapy/Radixact systems (preferred experience)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide radiation oncology clinical services in outpatient setting
• Evaluate, plan, and manage radiation therapy treatments
• Collaborate with physicists, dosimetrists, and oncology team
• Oversee treatment delivery and ensure quality/safety standards
• Document care in EMR and coordinate multidisciplinary oncology care
