About the Position
LocumJobsOnline is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified Obstetrics and Gynecology MD in Texas!
We are seeking an Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for a 36-day assignment in Texas, starting on Jun 15, 2026. This role involves 8a-8a shifts, focusing on emergency response, comprehensive patient evaluation and management, attending deliveries, providing consultations, and offering surgical assistance for various obstetric and gynecological cases.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain active awareness of all patients on the units (L&D, antepartum, postpartum, or OBED if located outside the L&D unit) and respond to emergencies.
- Evaluate all unassigned obstetrical and gynecology patients, regardless of payor source or status, who present with unscheduled, problem visits.
- Manage unassigned obstetrical patients from admission to discharge.
- Deliver patients when assigned community obstetricians/physicians are unable to present to the Hospital in time to attend the delivery, eliminating unattended deliveries.
- Respond to and manage patients in all emergent situations until assigned community obstetrician/physician arrives and assumes care with continued availability, if needed.
- Provide availability for consultations on all obstetric Hospital patients in the Emergency Department or any Hospital-Owned Clinic providing care to obstetric Hospital patients, when requested.
- Coordinate transport of acute or critically ill obstetric patients to or from other facilities for appropriate care as necessary.
- Provide surgical assist services to the client's obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) physicians.
- Cover the client's obstetrical triage unit to evaluate patients presenting with acute symptoms or signs of labor.
