Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Fellowship trained in Interventional Radiology (IR) or Interventional Neuroradiology/Neurology (INR) with neurointerventional experience
- Must be able to perform thrombectomies independently (endovascular thrombectomy experience required)
- Active Iowa medical license
- Active DEA and CSA
- Clean malpractice/background history
- Self-Query NPDB Report (pulled within 30 days at time of presentation)
- Availability for listed coverage dates
- At least 1 year of experience in interventional neurology or interventional radiology required
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for thrombectomy and emergent neurointerventional cases
- Perform emergent thrombectomy procedures for acute ischemic stroke patients
- Respond to stroke alerts and urgent callback cases as the on-call interventional neurologist
- Collaborate with neurology, interventional radiology, and stroke care teams for coordinated patient care
- Perform image-guided vascular and endovascular procedures as appropriate
- Manage inpatient neurovascular cases requiring intervention and post-procedure follow-up
- Ensure timely, evidence-based, and high-quality stroke intervention care
