PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: All ages (Pediatrics to Geriatrics)
• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 20–30 patients per day
• Case Mix: Broad emergency medicine cases in a critical access setting
FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Beds in Department: 7 ED rooms (including 2 trauma bays)
• Trauma Level: Level IV (Adult)
• EMR System: EDIS (primary), Medhost, Athena (clinic)
• Office Equipment Available: Standard ED equipment including ultrasound
• Specialty Backup Available: FM physician, ED physician, telemedicine (cardiology, stroke)
• Support Staff Available: 24-hour MD support; additional PA coverage on mid shifts
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60–90 days

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active MN license required
• Board: Board Certified Physician Assistant
• DEA: Required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS or CALS required; PALS/APLS preferred
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of emergency medicine experience
• Other Qualifications: Comfortable working in critical access ED environment
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide emergency medical care across all patient populations
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute conditions
• Perform emergency procedures including ultrasound
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate documentation in EDIS EMR
