LocumJobsOnline is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Peds - Critical Care NP in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73104!
Our client in Oklahoma is actively seeking a dedicated Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner for an 18-day assignment starting Nov 2, 2026. This role involves night shifts from 5 pm to 6:30 am, with a preference for candidates available for a minimum of 6 shifts per month. The selected professional will provide advanced critical care within a Pediatric ICU, focusing on managing acute and chronic illnesses and caring for complex post-operative cardiac patients, including neonates, VAD, and heart transplant recipients.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Demonstrate three or more years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in a designated specialty.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, presentation, and epidemiology of medical conditions.
- Exhibit a high degree of clinical expertise in managing patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
- Perform procedural skills pertinent to the practice area with proficiency.
- Engage in advanced medical/nursing clinical knowledge, effective communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, and systems-based practice.
- Maintain the highest level of accountability for professional practice.
- Utilize knowledge of pharmacologic agents, including indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions, and adverse reactions.
- Manage general medical and surgical conditions.
- Uphold ethical principles concerning patient confidentiality, informed consent, and unanticipated adverse outcomes.
Additional Information
- This is an inpatient Pediatric ICU APP role within a Cardiac ICU, primarily caring for post-operative patients.
- The position requires a minimum of 6 shifts per month, but all availability will be considered.

- The Cardiac ICU provides in-house physician coverage overnight.
- Credentialing requires a Pediatric Acute Care APRN; an NP with acute care training is also appropriate.
