Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced CRNAs to support a solo anesthesia practice in a community hospital setting. This is a highly autonomous role offering a predictable weekday schedule, diverse case mix, and a true independent practice environment.
This is not a care team model.
This is a full-scope, solo CRNA assignment designed for providers confident in independent decision-making and case management.
Opportunity Snapshot
Contract Type: CRNA Locum Tenens
Start Date: July – August (excluding July 27–31)
Additional Need: Potential September coverage
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- Day shifts (typical 7:00 AM start)
- ~40 hours per week
Call: None
EMR:
- Cerner (hospital)
- Paper charting (anesthesia)
Facility Overview
- Community hospital surgical services program
- 2 operating rooms
- Efficient, low-volume OR environment
- Scheduled case model (no emergent anesthesia cases)
This is a controlled, predictable OR setting with no overnight or high-acuity disruption.
Practice Environment
- Solo CRNA coverage (no supervision)
- Independent case management
- Collaborative surgical team support
This is a true autonomy model—ideal for experienced CRNAs comfortable practicing independently.
Case Mix
- General surgery
- Endoscopy
- Orthopedics (including total joints)
- ENT
- Urology
- Cataracts
- Regional blocks
Additional Notes:
- No OB
- No trauma
- Emergent cases transferred out
This is a bread-and-butter surgical mix with regional anesthesia exposure.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia across all scheduled surgical cases
- Perform regional blocks as indicated
- Manage cases independently from pre-op through recovery
- Maintain documentation (Cerner paper anesthesia records)
What We’re Looking For
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
- Active Iowa license
- DEA required
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years anesthesia experience
- Strong independent practice background
- Comfortable with full-scope case management
