- Assess property and casualty insurance risks to determine eligibility, profitability, and desirability. Complete referrals, and make acceptance, rejection and pricing decisions aligned with program guidelines.
- Oversee assigned programs and contribute to the development of new products for existing and new programs.
- Collect and analyze relevant data to create accurate risk profiles, ensuring proper classification and pricing.
- Approve underwriting transactions and bind coverage within delegated authority, maintaining thorough documentation of decision processes.
- Partner with internal sales and marketing teams to drive business development opportunities while delivering superior customer service in a dynamic environment.
- Prepare underwriting reports, reviews, and participate in departmental and committee meetings.
- Adhere to underwriting guidelines and delegated underwriting authority, ensure compliance with quality standards, and consistently deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Exhibit tactful negotiation skills and contribute positively to team cohesion and work environment.
- Safeguard sensitive information encountered during job duties.
- Prepare written correspondence, analysis, reports, and memos as needed.
- Participate in profit and loss evaluations on program performance and perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Limited travel by automobile or aircraft may be required, including overnight stays.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Commercial Underwriter, or achievement of the CPCU designation.
- Proficiency in analyzing complex risks and making data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in carrier systems and computer applications including Excel and Power BI.
