- Has in-depth knowledge in actuarial discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines
- Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions
- Works independently; receives minimal guidance
- May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
- Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes
- Typically resolves complex problems or problems where precedent may not exist | Often leads the work of small project teams; may formally train junior staff
- Works independently
- Willing and able to consult with clients on a regular basis
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or math preferred, or equivalent education and/or experience with emphasis in math, accounting, or finance required.
- Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) preferred
- Minimum of five years’ analytical experience preferred.
- General understanding of enterprise risk management methods and processes preferred.
- Ability to compile, analyze, present, and interpret complex financial and statistical information to facilitate decision making.
- Must have the ability to summarize results in written form.
- Strong understanding and application of accounting principles and experience in the interpretation of financial statements.
- High skill in using computer application software for financial modeling, statistical analysis, spreadsheet calculations, word processing, and other analyses.
- Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines required. Must be results-oriented with the ability to change priorities as needed.
- Above average verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with associates at all levels of responsibility, along with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and be away from home more than one day and night.
