Your Responsibilities
Client and Location: Ulta Beauty in Bolingbrook, IL; Hybrid position: 3 days remote and 2 days in office each week
Essential Functions
Leads the Leave of Absence Center of Excellence in ensuring compliance relative to federal, state, and company-provided job protections.
Initiates and follows the client’s trained processes, documentation, templates, and other provided resources when initiating the interactive process for all who request a leave and/or workplace accommodation. Escalates requests requiring approval decisions not defined in client’s trained process.
Provides guidance and partnership to client’s employees in all leave and accommodation matters. Works in collaboration with Leave Managers (or Legal Services) so they may assess areas of risk. Immediately escalates any cases that may result in adverse employment action or undue burdens with workplace accommodation, for the Leave Managers to render a final decision.
Partners with leave of absence vendor to ensure accurate and timely processing and notification of FMLA and Short-Term Disability claims.
Manages the return from leave process for all field associates, ensuring that associates provide proper return documentation, return to work when leave exhausts, and initiates leave extensions when necessary.
Responsible for leave data integrity in all leave databases including documenting accommodations and inactive status entries.
Run reports from different systems to ensure all leave of absences are accounted for and recorded accurately.
Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, PFML, state and local laws.
Handles ad hoc projects as needed within Benefits and other areas of People Success as appropriate.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Advanced education or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional work experience, including a minimum of two years of Leave and accommodations administration experience.
Proven knowledge of federal and state job protections (FMLA, ADA, State leaves)
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite and technically proficient in MS Outlook, SAP, Word, and Excel, with demonstrated ability to learn additional programs and systems as needed.
Demonstrated articulate verbal presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with associates at all levels within the organization. Listening to and acknowledging employee sentiment, educating on alternative points of view.
Professional experience demonstrating superior customer service skills while multi-tasking and working in a fast moving and changing environment.
High level of discretion and judgment, particularly when dealing with confidential matters.
Professional experience demonstrating self-motivation and result-driven outcomes with little to no supervision.
Proven experience following a step-by-step process while using deductive reasoning to produce positive outcomes.
Preferred Education And Experience
Former experience in a people success (HR) related field.
Strong knowledge of benefit insurance products, including core and/or voluntary benefit insurance products.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of over five years of education, professional training or hands-on experience.

- Employee Service and Support: Develops a detailed understanding and in-depth working knowledge of all employer sponsored plans and leave of absence programs; responds to employee and carrier inquiries in a timely manner; investigates and resolves leave-related concerns; supports leave of absence email inbox and/or contact center, as assigned; acts as a liaison between the client’s HR department, employees, BCInsourcing, and benefit carriers
- Administrative Service and Support: Completes various administrative leave-related duties, as assigned by client and BCInsourcing; based on client needs, duties may include (but are not limited to) processing of leave of absence and return-to-work requests; auditing of leave data; billing administration; leave and disability claim support
- Client Specified Support:

- Attendance: Regular attendance is required. Hours may fluctuate during open enrollment periods and special projects in order to meet the needs of the client, including extended work hours, evenings, and weekends
