Position Title: Payroll Accountant

OVERVIEW
Lockshield Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Payroll Accountant to join our team. This role is primarily responsible for managing payroll, bookkeeping, and financial reporting services for a portfolio of clients while providing exceptional customer service and support.
We are looking for someone who values accuracy, professionalism, and relationships and someone who takes pride in helping clients feel confident and cared for as they navigate the financial responsibilities of running their business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage day-to-day accounting and payroll functions for an assigned list of client
- Process payroll accurately and timely while ensuring compliance with applicable regulation
- Post, categorize, and reconcile client transactions within accounting software
- Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
- Ensure payroll tax filings, sales tax reports, and other required filings are completed and paid on time
- Process and maintain client financial documents and records in an organized and secure manner
- Communicate directly with clients regarding payroll, bookkeeping, and financial matters while maintaining confidentiality
- Work closely with Senior Accountants to provide a proactive and comprehensive client service experience
- Identify opportunities to improve client processes and internal efficiencies
- Report directly to the Managing Partner and assist with ongoing process improvement initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles is preferred but not required
- QuickBooks experience is preferred; however, training is available for the right candidat
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and team-focused
- Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision
- Payroll processing experience is a plus but not required
