Lockport Steel Fabricators, LLC focuses on the fabrication of engineered to order structural steel and plate for the Oil and Gas, Industrial, Infrastructure, and Commercial Building sectors. .The Company specializes in structural building steel, ancillary bridge and highway weldments, power generation, substation steel and weldments, pipe rack support steel, platforms, handrails, ladders, stairs, tanks and vessels, as well as miscellaneous steel work needed. The Company is known for its versatile fabrication capabilities, enabling it to perform out-of-the ordinary fabrication with precision and in a timely manner.
Job Duties
- Deliver fabricated structural steel and misc metals loads to customers throughout the Chicagoland area.
- Move and stage steel inventory in yard area as needed for plant operations. Assist with receiving, unloading new steel material needed for production work.
- Performs inspections of vehicle prior to and following each trip; and keeps vehicle maintained and serviced as needed, including refueling, , checking tire pressure, etc.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs for hours of service and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of OSHA regulatory compliance
- Safe driving record, embrace and promote company safety first culture
- Strong verbal/written communication, customer service skills
- Strong interest in the steel fabrication industry – structural and misc metals
- Ability to secure loads from trailer/flatbed and ground.
Education and Experience
- HS Diploma or GED
- 5 years of experience delivering manufactured products
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Active CDL license
