Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
- Work with experienced electricians to learn about industrial and commercial electrical practices.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various tasks including wiring, circuit installations, and troubleshooting.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to understand project requirements.
- Participate in low voltage and high voltage installations under supervision.
- Conduct tests using an ohmmeter and other testing equipment to ensure proper functionality of electrical systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on construction sites.
- Follow all safety protocols as outlined by the National Electrical Code (NEC) and company policies.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an industrial or commercial electrician is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Basic understanding of low voltage and high voltage systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction documents effectively.
- Experience on construction sites is a plus; knowledge of frame carpentry is advantageous.
- Strong willingness to learn from experienced electricians and take direction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
