Superintendent – Industrial Operations (Vancouver, BC)

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established industrial operator in Vancouver seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead day-to-day operations, drive safe production, and improve performance across people, process, and equipment.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and is confident balancing operational delivery with continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and coach front-line supervisors and hourly teams to deliver safe, efficient operations
- Own day-to-day execution: production targets, labour planning, shift coordination, and resource allocation
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSE policies and requirements
- Partner with maintenance to improve equipment uptime, reliability, and planned maintenance effectiveness
- Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements using Lean/CI tools (where applicable)
- Monitor KPIs (safety, quality, throughput, cost) and implement corrective actions
- Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and training for operational teams
- Collaborate cross-functionally (Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Engineering) to meet site goals
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in an industrial operations leadership role (Superintendent / Operations Supervisor / Production Supervisor / Shift Manager)
- Experience in manufacturing, processing, heavy industrial, utilities, logistics/terminals, or similar
- Strong people leadership: coaching, accountability, and building high-performing teams
- Solid operational fundamentals: production planning, scheduling, labour management, KPI management
- Safety-first mindset with working knowledge of industrial safety standards and best practices
- Comfortable being present on the floor and supporting shift-based operations
- Post-secondary education (engineering/technical/trades/business) is an asset; equivalent experience welcomed
