Duties
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed descriptions of menu items, including wine and spirits options.
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted and communicated clearly to the kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages promptly, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks, demonstrating beverage service expertise.
- Process sales transactions efficiently while handling cash and credit card payments with accuracy.
- Upsell menu items and beverages to enhance guest experience and increase sales revenue through effective suggestive selling techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food handling safety protocols.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery, supporting overall restaurant operations.
- Assist with guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure a positive dining experience.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, with a strong understanding of fine dining standards preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for processing orders and transactions smoothly.
- Knowledge of wine varieties, spirits, cocktail mixing techniques, and beverage presentation to provide expert recommendations.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours while maintaining high-quality service.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally throughout their visit.
- Basic math skills for accurate bill calculation, change handling, and sales processing.
- Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation management tools is a plus for efficient guest seating.
- Understanding of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while respecting guest preferences and dietary needs.
