What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Eligibility Pool: STIP Substitute, Full-Time (2026-27) position at Location Varies?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- This position requires at minimum a 30 day Substitute Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- Candidates can qualify to apply for this Permit if they have a Bachelor's degree
- All Candidates need to have a Certificate of Clearance on the CTC before being authorized to work. This link will lead to the information candidates need to fulfill this requirement.
Important Information Regarding the Basic Skills Requirement:
- On June 29, 2024, Governor Gavin Newsom signed a budget trailer bill, SB 153 (Chap. 38, Statutes of 2024), that allows candidates to use their bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (IHE) as demonstration of the basic skills requirement, effective immediately. - If your circumstances indicate you need this exam, you may already meet CBEST/Basic Skills through your SAT, ACT, coursework or another qualifying exam. Please check here for Basic Skills Requirement information and here for information about the CBEST exam.
- Be prepared to work every instructional day as assigned on a day-to-day or long-term basis
- Sign a temporary contract designed specifically for this purpose
- Participate in district and/or school site in-services as assigned
- Two current professional references, including from a Supervisor
