The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with builders, contractors, and customers while promoting and selling trim, hardware, and interior and exterior doors. This position focuses on generating new business, maintaining existing accounts, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, contractors, and customers.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Promote and sell trim, hardware, and interior and exterior door products.
- Provide product knowledge, recommendations, and solutions based on customer needs.
- Prepare and present quotes, bids, and product options to customers.
- Follow up on leads, quotes, and ongoing projects to secure sales.
- Coordinate with the internal team to ensure accurate orders and timely deliveries.
- Visit job sites and customer locations to maintain relationships and review project needs.
- Stay informed about product updates, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
- Meet or exceed monthly and yearly sales goals.
Qualifications
- Previous sales experience preferred, ideally in construction materials, doors, trim, or hardware.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to read building plans and understand construction materials is a plus.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to travel locally to visit job sites and customers.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to visit construction sites and job locations.
- Occasional lifting of product samples or materials may be required.
