We are seeking a friendly and energetic Farm Market Sales Associate to join our expanding market team! This role involves assisting customers, stocking fresh produce and products, maintaining a clean and welcoming market environment and ensuring excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, greeting and assisting shoppers in selecting farm-fresh products and market goods.
- Operate the POS system, process transactions accurately, and handle cash/card payments.
- Stock and display produce and other market goods to maintain an appealing shopping environment.
- Share knowledge of farm products and answer customer questions about availability, quality and best uses.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the market, including sweeping, sanitizing surfaces, and properly handling waste.
- Assist in unloading deliveries, organizing, and restocking inventory as needed.
- Follow food safety and handling guidelines to maintain product quality.
- Assist with some packaging of produce.
Qualifications & Abilities:
- Previous experience in retail, farm/farmers markets or customer service preferred.
- Passion for fresh, local food.
- Capable of working independently while staying focused on tasks.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to follow directions well.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced indoor/outdoor environment and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Availability to work weekends, early evenings and holidays as needed.
- Previous experience handling cash sales and using a POS system helpful.
