International Aviation Professionals, Teamsters Local 2750 is a professional labor organization representing the pilots and aviation professionals of Atlas Air, Inc. Founded in 2019 and chartered through the International Brotherhood of Teamsters' Airline Division, Local 2750 is the first entirely new IBT Local Union in more than twenty years. We are relocating our principal offices to the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area and building a new team from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to join a growing organization at its foundation and help define the standard of excellence we intend to set for everything our members and the industry see from us.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to serve as the financial backbone of our organization. This is not a data-entry position. We are looking for a candidate who brings genuine accounting knowledge, sound professional judgment, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to the financial health and transparency of the Local. You will report directly to the Secretary-Treasurer and work with significant autonomy in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization.

This is a full-time, on-site position. Remote work is not available for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all accounts payable and receivable using SAP Concur, including review and processing of employee reimbursement requests

• Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Desktop, including monthly reconciliations and general ledger management

• Reconcile American Express corporate accounts on a monthly basis

• Manage dues collection and member financial records using the IBT's internal membership management system (training provided)

• Prepare and distribute monthly Trustee reports to the Local's elected trustees

• Process bi-weekly payroll in coordination with the Office Manager through ADP

• Support preparation of the annual organizational budget in collaboration with the Secretary-Treasurer

• Prepare financial reports for membership meetings and Executive Board review

• Liaise with the Local's auditing CPA firm, providing requested documentation and records in support of annual audits

• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting accuracy

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• Minimum three (3) years of professional accounting experience

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop

• Strong working knowledge of financial statements, general ledger accounting, and month-end close processes

• Demonstrated ability to identify, investigate, and correct accounting discrepancies independently

• High standard of professional written communication

• Absolute integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information

Preferred:

• Experience with SAP Concur or similar expense management platforms

• CPA license or active CPA candidacy

• Prior experience in a nonprofit, labor organization, or similarly structured small organization

• Experience supporting an annual audit process

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $72,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications

• Comprehensive health coverage at no cost to the employee

• 80 hours of Paid Time Off credited at hire, covering vacation, illness, and personal leave, with additional accrual beginning immediately

• Regular business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no expected overtime
