Duties
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake components using OEM schematics and technical manuals
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and vehicle inspections to prevent future issues
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, and power tools to ensure precise fit and function
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repairs or testing
- Conduct electrical diagnostics on automotive and industrial equipment to identify wiring issues or component failures
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical problems accurately
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance in a dealership or industrial setting
- Familiarity with OEM parts, schematics, and diagnostic tools for Caterpillar, Ford, Cummins, or similar brands
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom repairs or modifications
- Knowledge of farm machinery, heavy equipment operation (excavators, cranes), and industrial machinery maintenance
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, air brake systems, transmissions, HVAC systems in vehicles or equipment
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics confidently while troubleshooting complex issues
- Customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs
