Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases through efficient retail sales transactions using POS (Point of Sale) systems
- Manage cash handling accurately, ensuring proper change is given and transactions are correctly recorded
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure products are attractive and accessible
- Assist with stocking shelves, inventory counts, and replenishing merchandise to keep the store well-stocked and inviting
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining professional phone etiquette
- Support supervisory staff with training new team members or supervising other cashiers during peak hours when needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is highly preferred
- Strong proficiency in POS systems, cashiering, and basic math skills for accurate cash handling
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) settings if applicable
- Ability to perform retail math calculations quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory management
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and retail sales techniques to enhance store presentation and sales performance
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or similar retail environments is advantageous
