Outside Sales Representative

LOCAL Life Magazine is seeking a motivated, professional and highly organized Sales Representative to join our advertising sales team. This is a full-time position based in Hilton Head, with a sales territory that includes Hilton Head, Bluffton and Beaufort.

Candidates must live-in or be very familiar with the Hilton Head, Bluffton and Beaufort areas.

This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years of sales experience who is eager to grow, learn and build a career in media sales. The right candidate will be a strong prospector, a consistent follow-up person and someone who enjoys building relationships with local business owners and decision-makers.

LOCAL Life is the premier lifestyle magazine serving Hilton Head, Bluffton, Beaufort and the surrounding Lowcountry. We work with local businesses, brands and professionals who want to reach an upscale audience through high-quality print and digital advertising.

The Sales Representative will focus primarily on print advertising sales for LOCAL Life magazine and will report directly to the Publisher. This position requires someone who is willing to learn on the job, take direction and work closely with the Publisher to understand the LOCAL Life brand, sales process, audience and advertiser base.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and identify new advertising opportunities with local businesses and organizations.
• Follow up consistently with leads, prospects and existing advertisers.
• Schedule and conduct sales meetings with potential clients.
• Present LOCAL Life magazine advertising opportunities in a clear, professional and compelling way.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with advertisers throughout Hilton Head, Bluffton and Beaufort.
• Work closely with the Publisher to learn the LOCAL Life sales process, audience, products and brand standards.
• Manage a pipeline of prospects and track sales activity.
• Understand advertiser goals and help connect them with the right LOCAL Life opportunities.
• Assist in renewing and growing existing advertising accounts.
• Meet or exceed sales goals as experience and account base grow.
• Qualifications
• 1–3 years of sales experience preferred.
• Strong prospecting and follow-up skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Professional, polished and comfortable speaking with business owners and decision-makers.
• Self-motivated, organized and eager to learn.
• Ability to take direction, accept coaching and work closely with the Publisher.
• Comfortable using a laptop, email and basic sales tools.
• Interest in local business, media, marketing or advertising is a plus.
• Print, media or advertising sales experience is helpful but not required.
• Knowledge of Hilton Head, Bluffton, Beaufort or the Lowcountry business community is a plus.
• Compensation and Benefits

This position includes a base compensation structure until the commission threshold is met. Health benefits are provided. Training, sales support and a laptop are also provided.
