Production Associate

Job Summary

The Production Associate operates key food equipment for various manufacturing operations within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operates key food equipment including fillers, cappers, bottling, labeling, box erection, and takes corrective action if problems arise

2. Ability to diagnose issues with key equipment and notifies maintenance. Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments & material requirements

3. Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machines

4. Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction to determine accuracy of machine operation

5. Measures work piece dimensions, using rule, template, or other measuring instruments to determine accuracy of machine operation

6. Performs minor machine maintenance

7. Assists machine operators to set up machines, stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces

8. Inspect raw material during the loading process and report quality concerns to QA or supervisor

9. Feed raw material in a sanitary, accurate and efficient manner

10. Lead quick and efficient changeovers to minimize down time

11. Complete necessary documentation for changeovers, cleaning, and product specs

12. Remove waste and sweep or mop work area regularly to maintain a sanitary environment

13. Follow all SOP’s and food safety standards

14. Perform all tasks in a manner that promotes safety

15. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

· Previous working experience in the food industry is a plus

Physical Demands

· Occasionally required to sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; bend, lift or climb

· Occasionally required to lift moderate weights (25-50 pounds)

· Occasionally required to lift heavy weights (50 pounds or greater)

· Finger dexterity required and hand coordination required

· Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust or focus.

Work Environment

· Exposure to adverse conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions.

· Exposure to moving mechanical parts.

· Exposure to high, precarious places.

· Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.

· Possible risk of electrical shock

· Protective clothing or equipment is required including gloves, hair nets, steel-toed boots, protective eyewear.

Pay: $17.75 - $18.75 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
