What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance - Product Development position at Local Food Manufacturer?
Local food manufacturer is seeking a skilled person to fill a Quality and Product Development role.
Chosen applicant would shadow current QA personnel to cross train responsibilities of the QA lab.
Responsibilities would include testing of incoming goods, finished goods, plant inspection, product inspection
and sampling, product development sample prep, participating in food safety training and meetings,
coordinating with production team for food safety/quality concerns. Please note we do process wheat, soy,
milk, and egg in our facility. Applicant must be available to work Monday thru Friday 8:00 to 5:00 with some
occasional overtime.
Job Description:
- Uphold and encourage food safety in all aspects of job
- Daily test preparation and testing of various dry food ingredients including sensory evaluation; collect samples using proper tools and technique; entering data into spreadsheets; repetitive testing
- Precise and accurate handling of data and samples
- Maintain communication with other departments and employees in regards to quality holds or production changes
- Standing for long periods of time in a laboratory; ability to lift 50 lbs; no wheat, soy, egg, or milk allergies
Other Requirements:
- Educational – high school degree required; college level science coursework or lab work experience preferred
- Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Good oral and written communication skills, good time management skills, attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area
- Must be reliable, prompt, with a strong work ethic; ability to work in a team as well as work alone without supervision
- Ability to use Microsoft Office series
