Staffworks Group is seeking skilled and licensed Commercial HVAC-R Technicians to join our growing team in Gales Ferry, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems and be capable of independently installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex equipment across a variety of commercial facilities.

Commercial HVAC-R Technician
MUST HAVE Connecticut HVAC license required (D1, D2, S1, S2)
Location: Gales Ferry, CT
Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour (based on experience and licensing)
Responsibilities:
- Install, service, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration-related issues
- Perform preventive maintenance on rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, walk-in coolers/freezers, and related equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
- Inspect systems for proper functionality and recommend repairs or upgrades when needed
- Repair or replace defective components including compressors, motors, controls, contactors, sensors, valves, and refrigerant lines
- Perform refrigerant recovery and charging in accordance with EPA regulations
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation
- Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with local, state, and federal codes
- Communicate professionally with customers, facility managers, and team members
Qualifications:
- OSHA 10 Certification required
- EPA 608 Certification required
- 3 years of commercial HVAC-R experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems and HVAC controls
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems independently
- Strong understanding of wiring diagrams and control systems
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in varying indoor/outdoor environments
- Strong communication and customer service skills
