IT Director

Position Summary:
The IT Director is responsible for overseeing all information technology operations across two mid-size casino properties located in close proximity. This role is hands-on and requires both strategic oversight and active technical involvement in maintaining, securing, and optimizing all network, system, and infrastructure components. The IT Director will directly supervise the Systems Administrator while working closely with department heads, gaming system vendors, and senior management to ensure reliable, secure, and compliant technology operations across both properties.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure for both casino properties, ensuring high availability, redundancy, and security.
· Oversee cabling, switching, routing, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
· Manage servers, virtual machines, backups, user accounts, and system updates.
· Support POS, player tracking, accounting, and surveillance systems in coordination with vendors.
· Provide direct technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues across both casinos.
· Troubleshoot critical systems, including gaming floor networks, kiosks, and back-of-house operations.
· Coordinate with gaming and non-gaming system vendors for installations, updates, and issue resolution.
· Lead technology projects such as network redesigns, new system integrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
· Ensure all systems meet Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) IT and data security requirements.
· Implement cybersecurity best practices, manage firewalls, antivirus, and user access controls.
· Develop and manage IT budgets, equipment lifecycle plans, and technology roadmaps for both properties.
· Recommend and implement cost-effective and scalable IT solutions.
· Supervise and mentor the IT Technician, providing guidance on priorities, problem-solving, and professional growth.
· Maintain a responsive, service-oriented IT function that supports all departments.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
· Preference given to candidates with casino IT experience
· Strong hands-on experience with network design, configuration, and troubleshooting (Cisco, Ubiquiti, or equivalent).
· Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, and backup systems.
· Familiarity with gaming industry systems (Konami Synkros, Micros Symphony, Everi FinTech suite) and compliance requirements preferred.
· Experience with Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewall, Sonic Wall, Meraki wireless, HPE servers, Dell/EMC servers, preferred.
· Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
· Ability to work on-site and manage operations across both properties with a hands-on approach.
· Obtain an NGCB license is required for the position
Preferred Certifications
· CCNA / CCNP
· CompTIA Security or equivalent
· Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
· Experience with gaming-specific IT systems or NGCB compliance is a plus
