What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Comptroller position at Local Car Dealership?
We are a well-established local automotive dealership seeking an experienced Comptroller to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting and finance professional looking for a long-term position with a successful, community-focused dealership.
The ideal candidate will have a strong finance and/or accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to oversee the financial operations of a busy automotive dealership. Previous automotive dealership accounting experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates with strong accounting or financial management experience in other industries.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reports
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Complete bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Monitor cash flow and dealership financial performance
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning
- Maintain accurate financial records and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting practices and dealership requirements
- Work closely with ownership and management
- Coordinate with outside accountants, financial institutions, and other business partners as needed
Qualifications
- Strong background in accounting, finance, or business management
- Automotive dealership accounting experience is a plus
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial statements, and reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently while also being part of a team
