Local 3 is looking for a dynamic Commercial Producer to join our Creative Services Team. The Commercial Producer will be responsible for the planning and executing of high-quality commercials. The ideal candidate will shine while working with Local 3 clients and partners, working to understand their goals best and drive results with creative vision, writing, shooting, and editing. The Commercial Producer will work alongside veterans in the commercial production industry and the top local sales team in the Tennessee Valley.
Responsibilities:
- The Commercial Producer will be responsible for developing cutting-edge commercial spots from concept to completion.
- Creatively write, shoot, and edit content to tell compelling stories.
- Collaborate with the creative team and project stakeholders to produce on-brand videos and digital content that drives results.
- Meet with commercial clients on behalf of Local 3 and use strong client service skills to understand the client’s goals and vision best.
- Coordinate production, including working with clients, marketing specialists, and agencies, planning location(s), talent, music, and voice-over, and reserving any other technical pieces (cameras, vehicles, etc.) needed for a project.
- Manage video equipment and software needs.
- Perform other duties as directed by the creative services manager or general manager.
- Occasional weekends, evenings, and holiday shifts will be required based on client needs.
- Collaborate with news and production teams on occasion for large station community projects, including the Share Your Christmas Food Drive and St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway productions.
- Meet all deadlines, fulfill scheduling commitments, and consistently achieve quick turnarounds in a rapidly changing environment.
- Prioritize relationships with Local 3 clients and employees.
· In-person attendance is required.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 3 years of commercial and/or promotion experience, or college degree preferred
· Advanced knowledge of the post-production process, including media management and encoding video to various formats.
· Broad understanding of marketing and design.
· Advanced knowledge of high-definition (HD) cameras, videography, motion graphics, and proper lighting techniques.
· Exhibit advanced editing expertise.
· A passion to stay up-to-date on production trends and continually strive to advance Local 3’s interests in remaining the leader in local broadcast and commercial production.
· Software skills preferred include Final Cut Pro, Grass Valley Edius, and Adobe Creative Suite production package, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, and Media Encoder.
· The position will require managing multiple projects simultaneously with frequent changes in direction and priority. Flexibility is required.
· Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
· Must maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record, as some day trip travel may be required for commercial shoots and production meetings.
· Possess a strong understanding of fundamental design and a strong sense of color, typography, and composition.
· Must be able to lift and/or carry 30 pounds of equipment.
