Who We're Looking To Hire
We're on the lookout for a knowledgeable and member centric Collection Specialist to join our Farmington team. In this pivotal role, you will be the voice of the Credit Union working with members on payment arrangements, answering questions that they may have, educating the member on LOC's products and services that could potentially help them with their payments (online banking, locations/hours, etc), and more. This role requires at least a year of collecting experience and it is preferable, but not required, to have previous financial institution collecting experience.

In this pivotal role, you will be the voice of the Credit Union working with members on payment arrangements, answering questions that they may have, educating the member on LOC's products and services that could potentially help them with their payments (online banking, locations/hours, etc), and more. This role requires at least a year of collecting experience and it is preferable, but not required, to have previous financial institution collecting experience.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Day-to-day collections - Reviews, monitors and contacts member when necessary to set up payment arrangements and discusses additional payment options including, but not limited to:
- Make daily, required calls set by the department manager
- Monitor promise to pay (PTP) activity
- Imports and monitors ODT (ODT collection process, ODT charge off process, maintains ODT and non-ODT charge off monthly log)
- Send collection letters and any necessary communication to past due members
- Skip Trace members
- Start and monitor the Legal Action process through LOC's attorney, including providing all documentation and any supporting information.
- File a police report on an as needed basis
- Review and recommend accounts for charge off; accurately process charge off
- Order repossessions and oversee the process, up to and including the sale of the vehicle
- Process garnishments, IRS Levy's and Child Support Levy's including member notification and additional documentation
- Represent LOC in court and in any legal proceedings when necessary
